Frisly Soberanis is a new media artist and producer from Guatemala, now based in Detroit via Queens, NY. His practice spans VR, video art, installation, and web-based work, centering on themes of migration, the tensions and harmonies of multigenerational households, and collective memory. He has received support from Tribeca Film Institute’s New Media Prototype Fund, Culturestrike and the Open Open Society Foundation. His new media work has shown at
el Centro de Cultura Digital (CCDMX) in Mexico City, Queens Museum, SXSW, Hilversum Museum, and at the Park Avenue Armory.
